It felt well deserved as everybody involved had put in an incredible effort throughout all the games and worked hard to win the final.
鈥淐ompeting against other colleges from across the country created a sense of pride within the team as everybody wanted to showcase their abilities and prove that they were the best team at the finals.鈥
HND Sports Coaching and Development student Daisy Smith said: 鈥淚 enjoyed it a lot. Since it was my first time competing in this competition, it was exciting. Winning gold was a great feeling. As a team we knew we were strong and could compete well against anyone we came up against so winning the gold was a proud moment for all of us.
鈥淚t was a nerve-racking game as our opposition in the final were the best we had come up against, but I would say we were the stronger team, so winning on penalties was well deserved.鈥
The Scottish Student Sport (SSS) College National Finals is a huge event in the College sporting calendar, where students from across Scotland compete in a variety of sports. This year, 14 colleges took part, with just over 400 student participants across the various categories, which represents a huge increase on last years numbers.
萌妹社区 Active Campus Coordinator Xsara Murray said: 鈥淚t was great to see so many of the Active Campus Colleges coming together for another fantastic College finals. It was great to place second in the overall competition against 14 other colleges. Well done to the dedicated students and staff who worked so hard to make this happen! Going for Gold next year!鈥.
